Introducing Kana!
Hello everyone! It has been a long while. Unfortunately, shortly after my last post my health took a steep decline. I didn't have the energy to even formulate thoughts, let alone write them down! Anyway, during the summer of 2018 my doctors recommended I look into getting a service dog. I asked my Rheumatologist if she'd fill out the paper work for me to pursue this option and she started working on it immediately. I was astounded by how quickly I was accepted into a local California program called Doggie Do Good. They paired me with my service dog match in the fall of 2018 and my girl, Kana, came home to me this March!

Here is where it started, at my pairing with Kana! My Canine Match

After many visits and many months, Kana was finally ready to graduate! They had me come up and complete a week long handler training course before she could come home with me.

Once Kana graduated, she came home and helped me get back on my feet! For the first time in a LONG time, I was actually able to go out for a walk. Then we tried yoga, golfing, got into gardening, and started going to the gym!
I still have a lot of bad days, but she gets me through all of them.

She even helped me make it through my final semester of school!
I still can't believe I finally graduated.
All that to say, I am hopefully on the track towards a healthier future and I'm really excited to see what 2019 has in store for us!
